June 28th, 2015 – 11 days post amputation

Sheba is 4 years old and came to us from the SPCA in October of 2014.  We fell in love with her after spending only a few minutes with her.  She loves spending time with her people and loves to cuddle.  Like all dogs, she also loves her walks and running off leash.  She is also a food hound and seems to enjoy food more than the average dog, if that’s possible.  She is mild mannered and very well behaved.  She is also intelligent and very easy to train.  For us, she is the absolute perfect dog and we love her so much.

It was very sad to learn Sheba has Osteosarcoma in her front left leg.  She was diagnosed in June and amputation was completed June 17th.  It is now 11 days since amputation, and she is doing amazingly well.  This is her story so far.

  1. Sheba, beautiful Sheba! Welcome to the family and we look forward to sharing in all your successes! You’re geeling good alread…this early in recover? It only gets better and better!

You clearly won the Puppy Lottery when you found these humans to give you love in your forever home!! And you clearly are loved!

The important thing about this whole journey is to stay in the moment, in the present, in the now and let NOTHING rob you of your time together!
Sheba does not have a timeframe stamped on that cute butt of hers and she could care less about any ole stupid diagnosis!

There is nothing like spoiling a tripawd…and giving them a little scoop of ice cream every now and then!

Enjoy the snuggles and take lots of pictures! We love pictures around here!

    Sending love to all!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!

    1. Thank you for your kind words. Everyday Sheba is happy, we are happy!! Right now Sheba is happy everyday and we hope that will be the status quo for a long long time. 🙂

  3. Amputation is very sad, but as someone once said “there is life after amputation” SO much life. Find comfort in knowing you did the right thing to give your baby a better quality of life. Sheba keep kicking cancer’s butt!!!!
